What is an EICR?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report records the findings of an inspection and tests of a property's fixed electrical installation. It assesses whether the installation is suitable for continued use, within the agreed scope and any recorded limitations.
The report identifies observations and recommended action. An EICR is an assessment of the installation; any remedial work is a separate step to discuss.

What to expect.
1. Tell us about the property

2. Agree access and scope
Discuss the parts of the installation to be inspected, access to rooms and any limitations. Testing can involve switching off the power, so flag equipment that needs special arrangements.
3. Review the findings
The report records the installation's condition and any observations. Discuss the findings and any recommended further investigation or remedial work before arranging the next steps.
